The I'iwi is a bright red Hawaiian honeycreeper that can be found in high elevations in the native forest on Kauai, Maui and Hawaii Islands. They are very active and boisterous in the understory and forest canopy. They will aggressively chase other birds from flowering trees. Their vocalizations include a complex array of gurgles, chuckles and reedy notes. When they fly, they have a humming sound from their wings.
Aloha, Photography by Pamela showcases incredible Hawaiian Vistas. I live on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii in Waimea (Kamuela). Waimea is in the heart of Paniolo ( cowboy ) country with Parker Ranch Land surrounding the town. The Hawaiian Islands hold such a natural beauty that I am in awe every time I travel. I always have a camera with me as I never know what beauty will present itself to me. I enjoy taking landscape and seascape photographs along with other subjects. I take traditional photos as well as photos that I enhance through mixed media. Please join my e-mail list to get the latest updates on new releases. Thanks for stopping by. Aloha, Pamela
