Description
The I'iwi is a bright red Hawaiian honeycreeper that can be found in high elevations in the native forest on Kauai, Maui and Hawaii Islands. They are very active and boisterous in the understory and forest canopy. They will aggressively chase other birds from flowering trees. Their vocalizations include a complex array of gurgles, chuckles and reedy notes. When they fly, they have a humming sound from their wings.
